Evaporative Coolers

Welcome to the Evaporative Coolers page, an evaporative cooler delivers cool air into your home by using the hot air that comes in to evaporate water and thus leaving cooler air.

An evaporative cooler is not strictly speaking air conditioning although it does do a similar job. You place the evaporative cooler at a window or vent and it takes in hot air and uses a process of evaporation to cool the water, this does have a side effect though of making the air slightly more moist and so they make rooms more humid which is often a problem.

The evaporative coolers do have much lower running costs though and so offer a very cheap method of air cooling and the climate in the UK is usually not too humid and so the added humidity is often not a major problem although it is certainly noticeable.
